Keeping stations and tools in a health facility impeccably clean is crucial in the medical industry to prevent the spread of bacteria, germs or viruses. Higher standards are set and must be met for any parts of production, including the hardware and instruments within those environments. This is why medical-grade plastic plays such a vital role in the medical industry.

Medical grade plastic can withstand repeated sanitizing from various cleaning chemicals. While the cleaners kill germs, preventing the spread of polluted bacteria throughout workstations, the products encased in the medical-grade plastic remain impervious to potentially detrimental effects. Socket Mobile’s medical-grade products remain intact while exposed to harsh cleaners; the scanners are unaffected by cracks, discoloration, swelling or hardening that would normally be a consequence of chemical solutions or disinfecting liquids.

Socket Mobile’s D745/D755 medical-grade scanner is made of plastic that meets ISO10993 and EN60529 standard specification. These standards evaluate the biocompatibility of medical devices to manage biological risk ratings to protect the barcode scanner from recurrent cleaning with disinfectant solutions.

In addition, the D745/D755’s seal passed testing for IP54 (Ingress Protection rating for dust and water) rating. This tight seal allows external cleaning while protecting inner components from the intrusion of sterilizing solutions and liquids, keeping the barcode scanner working smoothly.

The D745/D755 medical-grade scanner is appropriate for situations where protection against the spread of germs is required. Invest in technology that protects not only itself, but the safety of its users and patients in the healthcare industry. Rely on dependable scanning and be confident in the safety your Socket Mobile scanner is ensuring.
